Guse Green Grocer opens Guse Hardware, a fixture at 46th Street and Bryant Avenue S. in Minneapolis, is going green -- and edible. Owners Tom and Terry Thomson are debuting Guse Green Grocer, with a grand opening on Saturday. While stressing that "we're not purists or food bullies," the Thomsons' mission is to stock healthful foods such as Thousand Hills beef, Callister Farms chicken and eggs, Rustica Bakery goods, Sunrise pasta from Hibbing, plus a variety of organic, gluten-free and allergen-free products. There's also a deli area and flower nook. Saturday's opening begins at 7:30 a.m. and will feature food tastings by vendors.

It's time to order CSAs Yay! It's time to order your free copy of the Land Stewardship Project's Twin Cities Region CSA Farm Directory, which includes information on the 54 farms that deliver to the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area. Community Supported Agriculture enables consumers to buy shares in a farm on an annual basis. In return, farmers provide a weekly supply of produce throughout the growing season. Subscriptions are often sold out by early spring. For a copy, visit www.landstewardshipproject.org/csa.html or call 612-722-6377.
