The Dan Graham retrospective opens Sat. at Walker Art Center, showcasing the veteran artist's work in video, conceptualism, installantion, sculpture, architecture and magazine art. Star Tribune preview is here.

Graham was in Minneapolis for a media preview Thursday, and talked at length about his art and ideas.

One of the show's main attractions is Graham's video "Rock My Religion," made in 1982-84. The 55-minute video, complete with concert footage, voiceovers and historic photos, seeks to conflate punk rockers such as Patti Smith and Sonic Youth with Ann Lee, the 18th-century woman who founded the Shakers. Here's an excerpt, and see it at the Walker, along with other Graham works spanning four decades.Graham, who is 67, will speak at the Walker at 2 p.m. Saturday, along with music by Japanther.
