For every starry-eyed Carrie Bradshaw, there are a dozen TV wives who clearly should not have settled. The most obvious example is Marge Simpson, who married the bumbling bump on a log who went on to inspire legions of similar TV husbands: for example, the hapless hubby on "Everybody Loves Raymond."
