Wet Weather Slowly Advances into the Northeast

May 3, 2009 at 12:30PM

There will be a fine line between wet weather and sunshine across theNortheast today. Dry air dropping southeastward from Canada has become firmlyentrenched across most of New York state and central and northern New England. As a matter of fact, the sun will shine and temperatures will be seasonableacross the far northern part of the country. This is in direct contrast towarm, moist air that is in place across coastal southern New England and themid-Atlantic states.

The rain will try to advance northeastward as the day progresses, but thedry air will put up quite a fight. Expect rain to slowly edge into northernPennsylvania, southeastern New York and across the Boston area by theafternoon. This looks to be the northern-most extent of the rainfall.
