Rain moved into California Tuesday. There have also been a few reports of lightning and thunder in the San Francisco area. The storm will bring rain or showers to much of the state Tuesday night into Wednesday, and several inches of snow will fall in the Sierra-Nevada.

This is not a particularly strong storm with rainfall generally under 0.75 of an inch. The upsloping terrain along the eastern side of the Sierra can expect somewhat greater amounts. No serious flooding or mudslides are expected with this storm.
