West St. Paul driveway shooting death investigated

January 14, 2013 at 1:43AM

Police continue to investigate the death of a West St. Paul man who was gunned down Friday night in his own driveway.

Blood and torn police tape still marked the scene Saturday afternoon outside a house on the 900 block of Ohio Street in the south metro suburb, and family members of the dead man wept Saturday when they returned to the home and saw blood still on the driveway. They declined an immediate interview, but did say that the man lived at the house.

An autopsy was being completed Sunday and police had no further comment on the investigation.

Police were called to the home at about 8 p.m. Friday when someone reported a person shot in the driveway, according to a police release.

When they arrived, they found a man lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he died.
