WAYZATA
Council approves golf cart ordinanceEarlier this month, Wayzata City Council members unanimously approved a new ordinance allowing recreational vehicles such as golf carts on some city streets.
The ordinance will allow bayside restaurants to deliver meals to docks via golf cart or utility-terrain vehicles (UTVs) and residents in two single-family neighborhoods -- Enchanted Woods and Locust Hills -- to use them within their neighborhood to get to lake accesses or nearby docks.
Drivers must have a valid state driver's license and can only be on streets with posted speeds of 30 miles per hour or less. Owners must get a $75 annual permit with the police department.
