Arboretum plans ladies' night, dog dayThe Minnesota Landscape Arboretum this weekend will have a ladies' night out, a day all about dogs, and a 5K run.
From 6-9 p.m. Friday, "Ladies Evening at the Arboretum" will be a chance to enjoy an evening of shopping, fashion shows and live music. More than 30 clothing, jewelry and specialty products vendors are expected, and a cash bar and appetizers will be available.
Admission is free for Arboretum members who register by noon Friday; after that, it's $5 for members. Non-member fee is $5. Register at www.arboretum.umn.edu/ladiesnightout.aspx. Walk-ins are welcome, too.
From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, "All About Dogs Day" will represent a chance to walk on Three Mile Drive, complete with trick or treating, and enjoy a Pet Expo.
Authors Allen and Linda Anderson of the Angel Animals Network will be at the Gift Store to sign advance copies of their new book, "A Dog Named Leaf."

At 9 a.m. Sunday, the Witch Hazel Hustle 5K Run/Walk starts, running from the Visitor Center along Three Mile Drive. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members through today. After that it's $30 for everyone.
