BLOOMINGTON

Job fair planned at Normandale U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen will host a free job fair from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Monday in the cafeteria at Normandale Community College, 9700 France Av. S., Bloomington. Employers will have an opportunity to set up booths and discuss opportunities for job seekers.

CHANHASSEN

Learn to snowshoe at the arboretum The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, will sponsor a free session of instruction in snowshoeing and cross-country-skiing tips with staff members from Hoigaard's from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 13.

Participants will be able to learn snowshoeing and Nordic walking techniques. Hoigaard's will provide snowshoes and walking poles to use during the class at no charge.

The arboretum will waive its normal admission fee for those who mention this event.

EDINA

Learn more about transit replacement Transit Link will replace Edina Dial-a-Ride this winter, and users can learn more about the transition and other transit options at a meeting Friday.

Staff members from the Metropolitan Council's Transit Link Program and Metro Transit's Customer Service Department will provide information about transit options in the area, including regular Metro Transit routes and the new Transit Link dial-a-ride service.

Transit Link will honor scheduled Edina Dial-a-Ride rides through July. Questions will be answered in the Meeting Room at the Southdale Library, 7001 York Av. S., starting at 10:30 a.m.

More H1N1 flu shot clinics offered The Hennepin County Public Health and Minnesota Visiting Nurses Agency will be providing free H1N1 flu shots to all children, youth and adults at the following times and locations:

•Today: Century Plaza, 330 S. 12th St., Room G101, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

•Thursday: St. Anthony, Community Center, 3301 Silver Lake Road, 3 to 6 p.m.

•Friday: Maple Plain, Orono Discovery Center, 5050 Independence St., 2 to 6 p.m.

•Friday: Brooklyn Park, Community Activity Center, 5600 85th Av. N., 5 to 7 p.m.

•Tuesday, Feb. 9: Shorewood -- South Shore Center, 5735 Country Club Road, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those with health insurance should bring their policy cards so administrative costs may be billed to insurance.

Foreclosure info sessions planned Free workshops on mortgage foreclosure will be offered over the next few weeks at Hennepin County libraries.

Hennepin County Taxpayer Services, the Minnesota Home Ownership Center, and the county libraries are sponsoring the sessions to answer questions from homeowners and renters about foreclosure and their rights. Participants may request free, confidential advice from counselors.

Libraries host career, business workshops Hennepin County libraries are planning business and career workshops throughout February. Here's a sampling:

• Test Drive Your Business Idea. 2-5 p.m. Feb. 16, Brookdale Library, 6125 Shingle Creek Pkwy., Brooklyn Center. One-on-one counseling to help develop sales and other financial projections. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers.

• Job Search Assistance, 1-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays Feb. 3-24, Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis. One-on-one help looking for a job, filling out applications, writing résumés with a job search representative.

• Small Business Start-up Guidelines. 10:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 13 at Central Library. What should be considered before starting a small business and what resources are available. Presented in partnership with SCORE.
