Wayzata, Orono, Eden Prairie make honor rollThree west-metro school districts were among 11 in Minnesota to make the national College Board's annual AP Honor Roll this year.

The Wayzata, Orono and Eden Prairie school districts joined 367 districts in the United States and Canada to make the list for increasing Advanced Placement classes, especially among students of color, and maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of three or higher on final AP exams.

Most U.S. colleges and universities grant college credit for a score of three or higher on AP tests, which have a high score of five. Other Minnesota school districts named to the list include Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose, Elk River, Mounds View, Lakeville, Burnsville, Prior Lake, South Washington County and Mankato.

WAYZATA

Blake School hosts admissions eventAnyone interesting in enrolling a student in grades K-5 at the Blake School can meet with school administrators, faculty, parents and students on Thursday to discuss school life. GOLDEN VALLEY

Perpich Center holds info sessionsStudents who are interested in attending the Arts High School at the Perpich Center in Golden Valley can attend an information session at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 and 21. Staff, faculty and students will be there to answer questions and give tours. The school is a tuition-free high school for Minnesota juniors and seniors.

ST. LOUIS PARK

Benilde plans Christmas concertsBenilde-St. Margaret's School's bands, orchestras and choirs will be performing in Christmas concerts that are free and open to the public.

The bands will perform today, the orchestras will perform on Dec. 13 and the school choirs will perform on Dec. 15. All of the concerts are scheduled for 7 p.m. and will take place at the school, 2501 Hwy. 100 in St. Louis Park.
