International school

Robotics team fourth in state

The International School of Minnesota Robotics team, "We Robot 2705," finished fourth in the FIRST® State Robotics Competition.

The team also performed well at the Duluth Lake Superior regional, placing in the top six. At the 10,000 Lakes Regional, it came in second out of 64 teams and won the "Creativity in Design" award. And that competition qualified the team for the global championship event in St. Louis, where the team placed 27th in a division of 100 teams.

At all the competitions, the team had one of the top climbing robots, which was a major challenge presented to teams this year. Thirty Minnesota teams qualified for the state tournament held on May 18 at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

"This was by far our most successful year. We built a complicated and successful robot," said faculty advisor, Rod Fisher.
