EDEN PRAIRIE
Harley-Davidson dealership to open
The southwest metro area's first Harley-Davidson dealership will celebrate its grand opening Saturday at 9 a.m. in Eden Prairie. The dealership -- Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson -- is at 12480 Plaza Drive, near Interstate 494 and Hwy. 5. Tom Giannetti, the dealership's president, owns the St. Paul Harley dealership and was chosen by the corporation to open a new store in the Twin Cities' southwest area. After neighbors opposed his plans for a dealership in Chanhassen, he bought property in Eden Prairie. THREE RIVER PARKS
Smoking restricted near children
Three Rivers Park District now restricts smoking in outdoor areas where children might be affected.
Places such as the Gale Woods Educational Farm, the Baker Near-Wilderness Settlement and, in the winter, the Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area are entirely smoke-free.
Smoking is also not allowed in play areas, on beaches, in visitor centers and in nature centers.
And tobacco use is prohibited within 25 feet of any Park District building's entrance, exit, windows or ventilation system, according to the district.
The regulations took effect Dec. 27. Violators face citations and up to a $95 fine.
Copies of the ordinance are available at 3000 Xenium Lane N., Plymouth, by calling 763-559-9000 or online at www.threeriverspark district.org.
