Jon Watson, an intelligence analyst for the FBI, will speak to the Republican Seniors of Minnesota on Tuesday, Sept. 1. His topic will be "The National Security Mission of the FBI as It Relates to Terrorist Threats in Minnesota." Also appearing will be former U.S. Sen. Rudy Boschwitz.

County offering back-to-school shots
Carver County Public Health is offering low-cost immunizations for children returning to school who do not have insurance coverage or who carry insurance that does not cover vaccinations.
Under Minnesota law, students must show they've had required vaccinations by the start of the school year. If a student is claiming a medical or conscientious exemption, the exemption must also be filed with the school by the start of the school year.
The county is requesting a $21.22 fee for the administration of each vaccine. However, no one will be denied service if unable to pay.
The vaccinations will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 31, Sept. 8 and Sept. 14. Appointments are required. For more information or to make an appointment, call 952-361-1329.

Historic cemetery walk returns
The Chanhassen Cemetery Walk is back by popular demand.
The guided tour through Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery and St. Hubert's Cemetery will feature actors from the Chaska Valley Family Theatre portraying prominent past citizens speaking about Chanhassen history and pioneer life.
There will be two walking performances at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 3. Meet on the plaza in front of historic St. Hubert's in downtown Chanhassen and board a bus to begin the tour.
