Braemar skaters offer instruction SaturdayFigure-skating professionals are offering free instruction for community members this weekend in the East Rink of Braemar Arena in observance of U.S. Figure Skating's National Skating Month.

The event from 1:45-3:15 p.m. on Saturday will include skating demonstrations by the Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club's state and regional competitors. The event is being presented by the club and Braemar Skating School, which is a part of the Edina Parks and Recreation program.

'Winter Hearty Party' at Arboretum SundayThe Minnesota Landscape Arboretum's "Winter Hearty Party" of cold-weather comfort foods is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Local restaurants will provide the food, and there will be beers and wines as well.

Jazz Impressions show is Feb. 11"Jazz Impressions, An Evening of Fine Jazz," featuring Kristin Sponcia and her band, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Plymouth Creek Center's Black Box Theater.

This is an adults-only program for ages 18 and older. Tickets are $10.
