Teddy Bear Band to play for childrenKids games, face-painting and food will be featured along with the Teddy Bear Band in a concert Sunday at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 5218 Bartlett Blvd.

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and teddy bears for their children. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information, call the church office at 952-472-2756.

Meet an owl, other events set in AugustPlymouth's "Entertainment in the Parks Series" continues in August with several events, all free and open to the public.

• "Owl Prowl,"at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the Hilde Small Stage, with a live owl and presentation with a naturalist.

• Shockwaves Prior Lake water ski team summer show, at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at Parkers Lake Park.

• Rince na Chroi Irish dancing group, at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Hilde Amphitheater Stage.

• TreVeld, a music group, at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Hilde Small Stage.

• Roe Family Singers from Kirkwood Hollow, Minn., at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Parkers Lake Stage.

• The Bazillions kids concert, at 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at the Parkers Lake Stage, followed that day with an 8:45 p.m. showing of the movie, "The Karate Kid."

• Boss Grant, a Johnny Cash Tribute, at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Hilde Amphitheater Stage.

MacPhail Center sets music fest for childrenChildren can visit a musical instrument "petting zoo" or make their own instrument at a free KidsFest from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 11 at MacPhail Center for Music, 501 S. 2nd St.

Concert features three leading sopranosLeading sopranos Janis Hardy, Molly Sue McDonald and Maria Jette will be joined by tenor Vern Sutton for Sopranorama! at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Old Log Theater, 5185 Meadville St., Greenwood.

The ensemble will present a program including classical, opera, Broadway, cabaret and comedy. They will be accompanied by pianist/accordionist Dan Chouinard.
