Essentially, he sent them Monopoly money and stuck out his tongue, because he had a deep intellectual conviction that every single piece of settled law about the tax system is wrong, and you really don't have to pay. You can imagine his surprise when he found out taxes are illegal, and everyone else was mistaken. Including the government! Boy, this will just change everything, he must have thought. Wait 'til I tell my friends!
