Weekly wine deal: Moscato

A California white delivers sweetness and light.

All of us could use a little more sweetness in our lives, eh? On the wine front, a good start would be the bargain-priced Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Moscato ($8). There's enough minerality and delicacy to help this white avert treacliness, and the lovely, layered aromatics make it hard to get past simply smelling the wine all night long. This swell aperitif also pairs beautifully with any kind of fruit salad and most other fruit-based desserts.
