Mille Lacs Lake
Anglers are catching crappies two hours before sunset in 15 feet, bobber fishing perch-colored jigs or crappie minnows, according to Johnson's Portside. Walleye action reported in 8 to 12 feet on the rocks bobber fishing leeches.
Nisswa-Brainerd area
Sportland Bait reports anglers in area lakes are catching lots of largemouth bass using jigs and plastic worms in 12 to 16 feet and sunfish using worms in 15 feet. Northerns are hitting in Gull Lake and the Whitefish Chain on spinner rigs with sucker minnows in 15-20 feet.
Leech Lake
Reed's Sporting Goods reports anglers are catching walleyes by working the cabbage weed edges with leeches or jigs and minnows. The evening walleye bite has been good, using bottom- bouncers on the Goose Island Flats and trolling Shad Raps. Perch have been hitting behind Bear Island and the Walker Bay narrows using jigs and minnows, slip bobbers and leeches in 6 feet and shallower.
Lake Minnetonka
Sunfish have been hitting inside and outside the weedlines and in the milfoil pockets using wax worms and small leeches, according to Wayzata Bait. Anglers are catching largemouth bass by throwing plastics and milfoil jigs in the milfoil pockets. Anglers are catching northerns by trolling spinner baits tipped with sucker minnows in 14-18 feet. Walleyes have been hitting late night and early morning on jigs and leeches in 18 feet.
