Lake of the Woods

Ballard's Resort reports fishing has rebounded. Walleye action inside the Lighthouse Gap using nightcrawlers, leeches and minnows in the morning drifting spinners with bottom bouncers. In the afternoon anchor and tip a jig with a frozen shiner in 30 feet.

Rainy Lake

Walleye have congregated on the reefs in 33-35 feet and Rainy Lake One-Stop says using a leech on a Lindy Rig is hard to beat with the east end producing the most fish. Smallmouth bass action on the Canadian side.

Nisswa-Brainerd area

S&W Bait reports walleye hitting on redtail chubs on Lindy Rigs and northern on redtails, pike sucker minnows and spinners in Gull, the Whitefish Chain and North Long. Area lakes producing largemouth bass off the weedlines.

Leech Lake

Reed's Sporting Goods reports muskies are on the move in darker water and hitting on Cow Girls and surface baits in Portage Bay, Sucker Bay with Walker Bay dominating the major action. Walleye hitting nightcrawlers and leeches in 12-22 feet.

Lake Osakis

Walleye action using Rapalas and leeches and nightcrawlers in 20-24 feet and leeches on a No. 5 Shad Rap in 5-9 feet according to Fisherman's Corner. Sunfish action in Miller's Bay.

Mankato area

Walleyes hitting Rapalas along weedlines and in the narrows in Madison, according to The Bobber Shop. Panfish biting in Baker Bay in Lake Washington and bass action in German.
