Lake Mille Lacs

Johnson's Portside reports walleyes are hitting on the gravel in 22 feet and on the mud flats in 28-30 feet using a Lindy Rig and nightcrawlers. Also lots of action after 8 p.m. (the night ban is off) on the rocks in 10 feet using slip bobbers and leeches.

Nisswa-Brainerd area

Gull, Round and North Long lakes are producing walleyes in 10-32 feet, jigging with shiner minnows or Lindy Rigging redtails and leeches, according to S&W Bait and Tackle. Crappie action has been good in the weeds in area lakes. Bass are being caught in Gull, Round, Hubert and North Long lakes.

Chisago City area

Frankie's Bait reports crappies are hitting wax worms and crappie minnows in 6-8 feet in Chisago Lake. Sunfish are biting in the shallows in Chisago. Anglers are hooking walleyes in Chisago and North Center lakes during the day in 18-23 feet using leeches. The night bite in 8-10 feet off the hard gravel points. Phenomenal catch-and-release bass action has been reported in Chisago Lake.

Annandale area

Little Jim's Sports reports walleye action in French, Clearwater, Pleasant and Cedar lakes in 16-24 feet using leeches, fathead minnows and crank baits. Sunfish are moving into the shallows to spawn in area lakes. Anglers are catching northerns in John, Sugar and Sylvia lakes in 12-16 feet along the weedlines.

Battle Lake area

Ben's Bait reports walleye action in West Battle, Ottertail, Clitheral and Rush lakes in 15-25 feet using shiner minnows and leeches. Clitheral, Battle, Star and Rush lakes have been producing panfish.

Faribault area

Andy Nagel's Live Bait reports sunfish are on their spawning beds in Roberds Lake and hitting on waxworms and angleworms. Anglers are catching crappies in Shields Lake in the shallows using wax worms, small minnows and leeches.
