Warming sunshine this weekend will break a cool, rainy spell in the PacificNorthwest as high pressure takes hold of the weather.Dry weather will return to Seattle and Portland on Friday.
However, the shift will be felt in earnest on Saturday, when plentiful sunshinewill warm Seattle to 77 F; Portland will reach 81 F.
What is noteworthy is that the 80-degree reading would be the first of 2010 inPortland. As of June 10, Portland had gone later into the year without an80-degree reading than on any other year in recorded history.
The old record was set in 1991, when it took until the 9th of June for the80-degree mark to be broken.
Sunday, sunshine and unusual warmth will hang on for one more day before a coldfront brings cooling.
