A beautiful April weekend is in store, according to meteorologist Paul Douglas, and that will have people out and about in cars, bicycles and on foot. Motorists might want to take advantage as a number of major road construction projects kick off on Monday and that will make it much harder to get around.

But here is one place you won't find anybody this weekend: On Hwy. 100 through St. Louis Park and Edina. MnDOT is closing the highway from 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday from I-394 to Crosstown Hwy. 62. Motorists will be detoured via I-394, I-35W Hwy. 169 and the Crosstown. Crews will be taking down the Hwy. 7 bridge. The same closure will be in place April 22-25.

The Twins are home with games against the Anaheim Angels Friday through Sunday at Target Field. But with the team's at 0 for 2016 start, traffic around the stadium may be lighter than on normal weekend games.

Transit will be up and running with no major service disruptions. But check your specific route as some stops are closed and buses detouring around construction zones. Both Blue Line and Green Line trains will run as normal.

Here is where you'll find cones and traffic restrictions this weekend:

Hennepin and Lyndale: The two outside lanes in both the north and south directions will be open to traffic and the remaining (inside) lanes will be under construction between Franklin Avenue and Dunwoody Blvd.

I-694 in Shoreview: The westbound lanes are open, but drivers will have to choose a lane prior to entering the construction zone, which runs from Dale Street to Lexington Avenue. The right lane will allow motorists to access exits along the 4-mile stretch. The left lane is reserved for through traffic with no on or off privileges. MnDOT is adding a third lane through the area, so this configuration will be in place until October.

I-94 at Hwy. 52: MnDOT will be doing road maintenance on the ramp from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. This will affect eastbound traffic. Motorists can us the exit at 6th Street/Mounds Blvd., then circle back to Hwy. 52 in St. Paul.

Minneapolis Parkways: The running season is in full swing and two races are on tap Saturday. The Hot Chocolate 5K and 15K takes over West River Parkway, East River Parkway, St. Anthony Parkway and SE. Main Street from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At Lake Calhoun, the road around the lake will be off limits to vehicular traffic from 7:30 a.m. to noon for the Y Run 5K and 10K races.
