Weekend Spoiler for South and East; West Warms

Rain and thunderstorms will plague the Central states into Friday, and all thatmoisture will shift eastward this weekend.Friday, a large area from South Dakota to Indiana can expect rain much of theday. Farther south, strong thunderstorms will hit areas from Missouri down toeastern Texas and Louisiana.

The entire storm complex will shift eastward this weekend bringing rain intothe mid-Atlantic states on Saturday and to southern New England by Sunday. Theregion from the Gulf states to the Carolinas can expect one or two episodes ofdrenching thunderstorms.

While the weather in the East goes downhill, conditions in the West willimprove quite a bit. The storm that has been swirling over the Southwest thepast couple of days will move out of the region Friday allowing sunshine toreturn. Much warmer weather is due though the Southwest this weekend.
