The ingredients could come together for severe weather over the nation'sheartland later this weekend. Warm, moist air will ride north through thesouthern Plains, while cold, dry air pushes south into the northern Rockies. The combination along with potent jet stream energy slicing through the centralPlains will threaten to bring damaging storms.
A low pressure system will move out of the central Rockies into the PlainsSaturday and Sunday. Though this potential severe weather event is stillseveral days out, the overall pattern favors thunderstorms, some of which couldbe quite destructive.
The most likely area to experience high winds, hail and possible tornadoes willbe from central Nebraska south along and near the I-35 corridor from KansasCity, Mo., to Oklahoma City, Okla.
