The ingredients could come together for severe weather over the nation'sheartland later this weekend. Warm, moist air will ride north through thesouthern Plains, while cold, dry air pushes south into the northern Rockies.Meanwhile, potent jet stream energy will slice through the central Plains.
These ingredients could gel as a low pressure system moves out of the centralRockies into the Plains Saturday and Sunday. Though this potential severeweather event is still several days out, the overall pattern favorsthunderstorms.
The most likely area to experience high winds, hail and possible tornadoes willbe from central Nebraska south along and near the I-35 corridor from KansasCity, Mo., to Oklahoma City, Okla.
Severe weather is not uncommon across this zone in mid-March as storms canquickly energize and erupt dangerous storms in the Plains. Stay tuned toAccuWeather.com the next few days for the very latest.
