Weekend real estate reads (a day late)

Stories about the market dominated the weekend coverage.

February 15, 2011 at 5:17PM

Was out yesterday, so I'm day late on my weekend offerings. But they're good ones, so didn't want you to miss the following:

Why the Obama Fannie/Freddie proposal might make NOW a good time to buy.

This is a story from last Thursday, but it's worth reading because it provides a good look at the differences among many of the often contradictory home sales reports that are issued every month.

Why the government isn't putting as much money into home-buying programs. (Hint: Pendulum has swung back to the notion that not EVERYONE should buy).

Even housing markets that used to immune to falling prices are under pressure.

Rise and fall of a foreclosure king.
