A storm system will produce showers and thunderstorms from the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley into western parts of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. Thunderstorms will also fire along the associated cold front from the middle Mississippi Valley into the central Plains.

Another area of low pressure will cause unsettled weather across the northern Rockies on Saturday before spreading thunderstorms onto the northern Plains by the end of the weekend.

Scorching heat will continue to dominate areas from the southern Plains into the Southeast along with plenty of sunshine. There will be a few isolated thunderstorms that develop each day; however, most areas will be dry.

Quiet weather is expected across the West with comfortable temperatures away from the coastline. An approaching disturbance will lead to mostly cloudy skies across the Pacific Northwest.
