BRRR-IFIC!

St. Paul's ode to winter, Winter Carnival, is here with an array of wintertime fun. Armed with chainsaws, picks and shovels, ice and snow carvers will create works of art. Sample a brew or two at the Beer Dabbler, where guests can taste more than 300 beers and listen to live music. Just because it's winter doesn't mean there isn't a saucy rib to be found; some of the best cooks will vie for the top spot at the World's Toughest BBQ Competition. Family activities include Kids' Day at Landmark Center, Educational Green Day and events at the Minnesota Historical Society. Devon Worley and Uncle Chunk will "Rock the Palace" with dance music. (Various times and locations throughout St. Paul, see website for details. www.winter- carnival.com.) Melissa Walker
