HOLIDAY LIGHTS IN THE PARK

If the hustle and bustle of the holidays left your family with no time for fun, visit Phalen Park for the last evening of holiday lights. A benefit for the St. Paul Police Foundation, the park is illuminated with more than 60 holiday-themed light displays located on a driving path. (5-10 p.m. Fri. $10 per vehicle. ARBORETUM FUN

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is offering free admission for the month of January. Explore winter's beauty along trails via skis or snowshoes. Activities for this weekend include a plant-maker studio and a hike with curator Wendy DePaolis through the Harrison Sculpture Garden. The Excelsior Farmers Market will be present with homemade preserves, cheese, pickles and handicrafts from local vendors.
