Drawing on America's insatiable desire for single-entendre movie titles and the irresistible charisma of Ben Stiller, "Little Fockers" took the box-office title this weekend. "True Grit" by our own Coen Brothers was #2, "Tron: Whatever" was #3, and this means that 66% of the top three consisted of Jeff Bridges movies. Awesome! Except:

Yay! Look, we all love a little Jack Black, but this was a lot of Jack Black, and it's possible people have tired of Jack Black playing Jack Black in Jack Black movies. Meaning, another heedless sloppy guy with a heart of gold and a funny way of grinning and staring at the same time. "Grit" pulled in almost $37 million, and considering it cost $38 million, this means Hollywood accountants will have to work very hard to make sure it never turns a profit, and the people down the line who were promised a certain percentage of the first clear dollar of profit have to wait ten years.

To everyone who helped make "Fockers" profitable, thanks! This means there will be a fourth one, and the title will have something to do with Mother Focker. Can't wait for the spin-offs about the Schutthed family. That title would be funny too because it almost sounds like a naughty word. Did you hear that Billy likes Jenny? It's true. He kissed her during recess and all the sixth-graders saw it.
