Jon Marthaler bakes up a batch of delicious links just for you. Other times, you can find him here and here.

Happy Saturday! Usually I take this space to complain about something or other, but let's take a week off from that and get straight on with the links:

*Bert Blyleven is going to the Hall of Fame, which prompted an outpouring of baseball writing this week. Among the best: John "Twins Geek" Bonnes notes that Blyleven's election was, more than any other election, an example of the battle over how the game and its past are viewed. Meanwhile, Jesse Lund at Twinkie Town went back through the archives to find Bert's top five pitching performances, including a couple that would have SportsCenter demanding his immediate Hall induction if they were to happen today.

While we're on the Twins topic: Parker Hageman did his usual epic research into what we can expect from Carl Pavano in 2011, should the Twins resign him; and I've got another link to Mr. Bonnes, who compares MLB free agency to "Deal Or No Deal" and somehow has it all come out and make perfect sense.

*And on a topic unrelated to anything: Spencer Hall (with special guest Jack Kogod) writes about the Sugar Bowl, in the guise of an alcoholic police horse. If you read only one fictional tale written in the voice of a hard-edged, embittered police horse with a drinking problem, make it this one. (But watch out for swears and adult situations, kids.)

*And finally: A Canadian junior hockey team has banned a reporter from their arena. His crime: Having the temerity to report that the team is awful and the fans are staying home in droves. Right now, Gary Bettman is smacking himself on the forehead and wondering why he hasn't tried this in Phoenix and Atlanta.

Six links down, and now, your weekend to go. I suspect you'll be spending it on your couch, watching playoff football. If so, I endorse your views and commend you for your strategy.
