Jon Marthaler bakes up a batch of delicious links just for you. Other times, you can find him here and here. Jon?

Happy Saturday! If you're reading this, I'm guessing you're probably a Minnesotan, and if you're a Minnesotan, you're probably not reading this anyway because you're either off at the cabin or at the State Fair. Nevertheless, I'm here to inform and entertain - or at least waste a few precious pixels - and so, on with the links!

*It's football season, if you didn't notice from College GameDay on your TV (or from the raft of games on Thursday and Friday night), and so we kick off this week's edition with Spencer Hall writing about football and his grandfather, or something like that. He quotes both Hunter S. Thompson and Camus, so either it doesn't make complete sense or it makes MORE SENSE THAN ANYTHING EVER WRITTEN. You have been warned. (Watch the language, too, as always with Mr. Hall, who is still my favorite.)

*Twins link of the week: Adam Peterson at Twinkie Town goes inside the numbers and tells us five things we didn't know about Twins baserunning.

*Back to football, where 16 ESPN experts have made their predictions. 15 out of 16 ESPN NFL experts think the Packers are winning the division. Four think the Vikings will miss the playoffs entirely. Your ALL CAPS Access Vikings-style rage may begin in the comments below.

*And finally: the Sports Media Watch blog examines the demographic breakdowns of viewership of a few recent major events. If you feel like extrapolating to future viewership, then get used to football and pro basketball being on your TV sets.

That's all for this week; enjoy your long holiday weekend. And remember: If Livan Hernandez can get a guaranteed contract for 2011, then anything is possible. Keep reaching for those stars, I guess.
