Following in a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition, an area of Canterbury Park has been turned into an illuminated wonderland of hand-crafted lanterns. Made in a variety of colors, the lanterns create architectural sculptures such as buildings, creatures and mythical beings.

Try your luck at finding your way through the Forbidden City maze. Guests can also view performances by Chinese acrobats and dine on Asian cuisine. Accompanying attractions include mini-golf, face painting and virtual reality rides.

(5-11 p.m. today-Sun. $18-$49. Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road, Shakopee. lanternlightfestival.com.)
