Walk in search of warblers, Bluebell Festival are among highlights.

Warbler walk

Wild River State Park

9-10 a.m. Saturday

The return of warblers to Minnesota is a big event for birders. Learn which warblers are found in the park. (651-583-2125, ext. 227, mndnr.gov)

Bluebell Festival

Carley State Park

10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday

Come celebrate the beauty of spring bluebells in abundance in Plainview, Minn. The activities include guided wildflower walks at noon and 2 p.m., trout fishing for kids at 10 a.m., and archery at noon. (1-507-312-2300, mndnr.gov)

Adventure hike

Interstate State Park

1-2:30 p.m. Saturday

The hike starts at the park office (at the campground end of the park) and ends at the glacial potholes area. Plan for a 2 ½-mile hike (round trip) with some rocky, uneven footing. This hike is best for ages 10 and older. (651-465-5711, ext. 225, mndnr.gov)

Birding for beginners

Fort Snelling State Park

10-11 a.m. Sunday

Join the park naturalist for a birding hike and learn about the basics of bird identification. Call 612-725-2724 to register. (mndnr.gov)

Bird banding

Whitewater State Park

12:30-2 p.m. Sunday

Join a master bird bander for a close-up experiences with birds. Birds will be netted, observed and banded with an aluminum tag. (1-507-312-2300, mndnr.gov)
