Week 13 scouting report: Chicago Bears

• The Bears are tied for first place in the NFC North with the Lions (6-5). They have won seven of the past eight games against the Vikings. The home team has won 19 of the last 23 meetings.

• Bears QB Jay Cutler will miss his fourth game this season because of an ankle injury. The Bears are 2-1 when Josh McCown starts.

• Chicago allowed a season-high 258 rushing yards in a 42-21 loss to the Rams on Sunday. The Bears have the worst-ranked run defense in the NFL, allowing 145 yards a game.

• The Bears are seventh in the NFL in passing, averaging 264.9 yards a game.

• RB Matt Forte, who is expected to play despite a knee injury, is sixth in the NFL with 851 rushing yards.

• Marshall had 10 receptions for 117 yards (fifth 100-yard game) and a touchdown against the Rams Sunday.

• He is 10th in the NFL with 945 receiving yards and tied for third with 74 receptions (51 for first downs).

• On transition quarterbacks … "It's tough to see a guy like [Cutler] go down, but I think our team is a resilient bunch. We've dealt with adversity since Day One."

• The 57-year-old Trestman is in his first season as an NFL head coach. The Minneapolis native spent five seasons as a head coach in the Canadian Football League.

• On returning home … "We'll save that for the offseason. We're headed to Minnesota on a business trip, and we've got work to do. It's a really important game."

• On Adrian Peterson … "We're talking about one of the great players to ever play the game. Certainly, I think all can say that arguably. He's a special man when it comes to running the football."
