Wednesday traffic: Slow and go on Hwy. 169 in Shakopee

With Hwy. 41 over the Minnesota River and other crossings closed, too, motorists are opting to use Hwy. 169 in Shakopee to make the trip north. Be ready for heavy conditions coming up from places such as Prior Lake, Shakopee, Belle Plaine and points south and west.

Traffic remains heavy up to the I-494 interchange as of 8:30 a.m.

It's definitely much heavier on westbound I-94 from Prior Avenue in St. Paul to Hennepin/Lyndale Avenue. Plan on 15 to 18 minutes along that stretch.

No better, but no worse on westbound I-94 from Hwy. 280 over to the Lowry Hill Tunnel. That is still a 15-minute trip. Here is the look from Riverside Avenue at 8:30 a.m.

Northbound I-35W tight but moving from 50th Street up to 38th Street. Plan on 15 from Crosstown to downtown.

A crash still blocking the left lane is leading to this tieup on westbound Crosstown near Cedar Avenue.

Other slow spots at 8:30 a.m. include both directions of Hwy. 169 from Medicine Lake Road to Hwy. 7, both directions of I-494 approaching I-394 and eastbound I-394 from Hwy. 100 to downtown Minneapolis.

Northbound Cedar Avenue is dealing with a crash near Old Shakopee Road.
