TIPSHEET

KNOW THIS

The Twins reached the midpoint of the season with a 35-46 record. In order to merely duplicate last year's 85-77 finish, they would have to go 50-31 in the second half of the year (a 100-win pace), and it still probably wouldn't be enough to make the playoffs.

"Even some of the best hitters in the game, with proven track records (Bryce Harper and Paul Goldschmidt, for example,) are struggling to hit in today's game with more scouting data and more drastic shifts. If Buxton can hit just .220, he's on my team anytime with the value he brings on the field.
