In preparation for an upcoming train tour of Britain, I just wanted to network with likeminded Brits -- make friends, find entertainment, etc. Enter the British-based WAYN ("Where Are You Now?"), sort of a MySpace for travelers. The site lets you create a profile and log your past and future trips, and then it hopes to facilitate connections with travelers and residents in your present and future locations. Within days of creating my profile, I had made friends in Mexico, France and Lithuania -- but still not a soul in England itself. Then there's all the friend requests (and implied romantic proposals) from Filipino women -- lots and lots of Filipino women. So there are a few quirks. But if WAYN fixes its awkward interface, this growing social site could have a bright future down the road.
