Weather looks iffy for Twins game tonight

A rainout would have its benefits for the Twins.

Don't know how else to put this, but the Twins could use a rainout tonight.

They're scheduled to play the Indians at 7:10 p.m. Looking at Weather.com, there's a good chance of rain at Target Field.

Team president Dave St. Peter has said, via Twitter, that if tonight's game is postponed, it probably won't be made up until later in the season. Cleveland makes two more trips to Minnesota -- July 18-20 and Sept. 16-18.

Either scenario would be better for the Twins. A rainout would give Justin Morneau and Delmon Young an extra day to recover. It would subtract a game that Joe Mauer, Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Kevin Slowey will miss while on the disabled list.

And, as a buddy of mine said, the Twins would sell a lot more of those $7.25 beers in July or September, than they will tonight.
