Weather for Last Respects to Sen. Ted Kennedy

As the nation mourns the loss of Sen. Ted Kennedy, the weather willcooperate in Massachusetts through the daylight hours of today for the viewing.However, downright stormy conditions are expected in much of New Englandtonight and Saturday.

Thousands of people are anticipated to attend the public viewing from 8:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m. EDT today. Clouds will thicken as the day progresses andtemperatures will warm into the lower 70s.

As a storm from the Midwest and Danny combine forces, rain will develop tonightand will continue, heavy at times, through much of Saturday. Kennedy'sinvite-only funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica inRoxbury Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A motorcade to the LoganInternational Airport will follow. Temperatures will be in the 60s Saturdaywith periods of wind-driven rain.

Kennedy's body will then be flown to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia,where the private burial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Whilethere may be a gusty, drenching thunderstorm in the Arlington area Saturdayafternoon and evening, it is impossible to say at this time if rain will hitduring the precise time of the cemetery service.
