Harry Connick, Jr.

One of the fringe benefits of being at the TV Critics press tour here in Los Angeles is the chance to see top musicalartists perform in an intimate space for only a couple hundred people. In the past decade, we've been entertained by Sting, Los Lobos, Dave Alvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Roseanne Cash, Patti Smith and cast members from "Glee."

Saturday night was Harry Connick Jr.'s turn in conjuction with his upcoming "Great Performances" special. Connick is good looking, quick witted, talented and married to a supermodel. In other words, he's a guy you want to hate. But Connick on stage and in conversation is somebody you can't help but like - even if he was still recovering from his belvoed Saints losing in the playoffs. Connick said after the show that he didn't think he performed very well, in part because he hadn't been on stage in four months. Could have fooled the enthusiastic crowd that was enraptured by Connick and his six-piece band. Here's the set list:

1) The Way You Look Tonight

2) Basin Street Blues

3) And I Love Her

4) Go To the Mardi Gras

5) It Had to Be You

6) Bourbon Street Parade

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
