Top-seeded Wayzata defeated Maple Grove 7-0 Wednesday morning to advance to the Class 2A boys' tennis team state championship this afternoon.
The Trojans will play the winner of Elk River and Minnetonka in a scheduled 4 p.m. match at Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota. The Elks and Skippers play at 10 a.m.
In Class 1A, Breck and Fergus Falls played a semifinal match that started at 8 a.m. at Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in south Minneapolis. The other semifinal features Blake against Mound Westonka. The winners play at 4 p.m.
Individual competition in singles and doubles will be Thursday and Friday at the two sites.
