AFTON

OCT. 9

Lost child. A 4- or 5-year-old child was discovered in a cul-de-sac in the 200 block of Indian Trail. A deputy transported the child to an address where he was reunited with his father and twin brother.

DENMARK TOWNSHIP

OCT. 13

Animal concern. A deputy checked on a report of three horses with no food left for them in the area of 90th Street and Manning Avenue. The caller said the animals had been looking progressively thinner. The deputy found that there was food and water left for them and thought the horses looked healthy.

HUGO

Animal complaint. A sheep or ram was reported running on the bike path near 170th Street. A deputy checking the area was unable to locate the animal.

OCT. 12

Suspicious activity. A deputy saw two abandoned bicycles in the area of Fenway Boulevard and 140th Street and then noticed some rustling in the cornfield nearby. There he found two juveniles who explained they were picking dead corn. The juveniles were advised the corn was not dead and that they were on private property.

OCT. 15

Residential lock out. A mother was locked out of her house by her 19-month-old child in the 13000 block of Europa Trail. When the woman and a deputy were unable to get the child to unlock the door, the deputy removed a screen and entered through a window.

OCT. 10

Suspicious activity. A vehicle with its lights off was reported behind the Freedom Valu Center, 2020 St. Croix Trail. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle but advised the complainant it was likely someone known to authorities who parks in the area and checks the fire scanner, and who was not a threat to anyone.

OAKDALE

OCT. 8

Nuisance complaint. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 600 block of Hale Avenue on a report of two motorcyclists doing wheelies in the parking lot. The officer located two males on parked motorcycles and advised them of the complaint. They left and agreed not to return.

Suspicious activity. A possible burglary in progress was reported in the 2200 block of Helena Road. An officer found a female in the back yard of the home mowing the lawn. She told the officer that the homeowner had hired her to mow.

SCANDIA

OCT. 7

Suspicious activity. A homeowner in the 2200 block of Lofton Avenue reported someone being in their yard the previous night. The complainant said their dog went crazy reacting to something outside the home and that horse tracks were found throughout the yard.

Woodbury

Animal concern. A resident in the 11000 block of Bailey Road called police after capturing a cat in a trap. She told an officer the cat had been a constant nuisance on her property. While trying to remove the cat from the trap it escaped and the officer was unable to find it. The complainant said she'd call back if she needed further assistance.

OCT. 10

School crossing complaint. A crossing guard reported a red car sped toward her while she was holding her flag out to help an elderly couple cross the street near Upper Afton Road and Sandlewood Road. She did not get the license plate number of the vehicle.
