MARCH 1

Suspicious party. A man was reported walking on a levee on property in the 3000 block of Saint Croix Trail. When the complainant asked what he was doing he replied he was "running from a crazy woman." Police contacted with the man, who explained he was having issues with his wife.

BAYTOWN TOWNSHIP

MARCH 3

Person being followed. Police received a call from someone in the area of 30th Street and Manning Avenue who was being followed by a pickup truck with flashing lights. The person later realized it was an acquaintance and called back to police to cancel the report.

GRANT

MARCH 1

K9 assist. Police checked on a report of a man possibly asleep in a vehicle in the area of Dellwood Road and Manning Avenue. The man told police he was having car trouble. Police had a dog sniff the car for controlled substances. The dog did not turn up anything illegal, and police took the man to a nearby gas station where a friend could pick him up.

LAKE ELMO

MARCH 3

Headlight violation. A driver in the area of Stillwater Boulevard and 39th Street was given a written warning for having a headlight out.

OAKDALE

MARCH 1

Suspicious activity. Police responded to a report of a man in a white van who had waved at a child at a bus stop while driving slowly in the 6000 block of 52nd Street. Police contacted the driver of the van who stated he was unfamiliar with the area so he was driving slowly to find his destination. He stated that the child had waved at him so he waved back. No criminal activity was found.

MARCH 3

Welfare check. Police received a request to check on the welfare of someone in the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue who had been unreachable for more than a week. Police made contact with the person and found everything to be alright.

Theft. A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot of the Marcus Theatre, 5677 Hadley Av. N.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

MARCH 2

Attempted break-in. Someone attempted to gain entry through the front door of a residence in the 14000 block of Dellwood Road. The door was damaged in the attempt.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

MARCH 2

Scam. A woman in the 1500 block of Manning Trail reported receiving a call from someone telling her to send money to Spain to help her grandson because he had been in an accident.

WOODBURY

MARCH 3

Gas drive-off. A man was reported to police for driving off without paying after pumping $35.71 worth of gas at Super America, 1551 Woodlane Drive. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle, who stated her boyfriend had the car. The owner would not provide her boyfriend's name but told police she'd take care of the bill.

MARCH 4

Animal concern. Police responded to a report of a raccoon in the middle of the road in the area of Crackleberry Trail and Glen Road. The animal did not appear to be injured or sick. Police scared it off the road and into the woods.

MARCH 7

Suspicious activity. A man in the 600 block of Sutherland Drive reported what he thought were people smoking marijuana in a car in his driveway. Police made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and found they were smoking cigarettes.
