Animal concern. Police received a report regarding a large number of cows in the road in the area of 22nd Street and Manning Avenue, but were unable to locate the animals.

GRANT

FEB. 21

Snowmobile violation. A juvenile was riding a snowmobile in a prohibited area, and without a safety certificate, in the area of Manning Avenue and Dellwood Road.

HUGO

FEB. 19

Wild cat concern. Someone in the 4000 block of Fable Hill Parkway reported seeing a large black cat near the treeline behind a house. The caller was certain the animal was not a house cat.

FEB. 21

Public works complaint. Someone in the 4000 block of 139th Street reported his vehicle had been snowplowed in after he had moved it to a parking lot to get it off the street. The complainant was advised that parking was not allowed in that lot, either.

Damage to property. A city snowplow knocked over a mailbox in the 5000 block of Fenson Court.

Vehicle in a ditch. A Schwan's delivery truck slid into a ditch, taking out a mailbox, in the 13000 block of Homestead Avenue, police said.

LAKE ELMO

FEB. 18

School bus stop violation. A pickup truck drove past a school bus with its stop arm extended on Hickory Street near Gosiwin Avenue. A citation was sent to the home of the truck's owner.

FEB. 21

Neighbor complaint. Police responded to a report of someone in the 8000 block of Ironwood Trail plowing snow across the road. Police contacted the man who said he knew there was an ordinance prohibiting plowing across the road but felt he had to because he had nowhere else to put the snow.

MAHTOMEDI

FEB. 20

Wild animal sighting. A resident in the 200 block of Frankland Street reported seeing what appeared to be a cougar.

Abandoned fish house. Police checked on a report of an abandoned fish house on the north end of Bone Lake, near the boat access. Police found a trailer with a broken axle that the complainant stated had been there for 10 days. Police advised the complainant to contact them if it was still there past the March removal deadline.

FEB. 21

Loose dogs. A huskie and what appeared to be either an Irish setter or a Labrador retriever were reportedly running loose in the area of Olinda Trail and 202nd Street. Police were unable to locate the dogs.

STILLWATER

FEB. 18

Dog in car. Police responded to a report of a dog left in a vehicle in the 1500 block of Frontage Road. Police observed a golden retriever in the car that did not appear in distress. Police contacted the owner, who was in a barber shop, and he came and rolled down the windows of the car.

FEB. 19

Dumping complaint. Police checked on a report of an unknown substance spilling out of the back of a truck that had suddenly braked in the area of Main Street and Nelson Street. It appeared what had spilled out of the truck was melted snow.

FEB. 20

Disturbance. Someone in the 1400 block of Greeley Street reported people in the next-door apartment were slamming a door and screaming. Police checked and were told that the neighbor had been banging on the door after being locked out.
