OCT. 24

Suspicious activity. Someone in the 4000 block of River Road reported a vehicle driving on their neighbor's grass and into some woods. The neighbor was contacted and told authorities that they'd given people permission to hunt on their property.

HUGO

OCT. 23

Animal abuse/threat. Someone reported hearing their neighbor beating a dog in the 15000 block of Forest Boulevard. The complainant said she confronted the neighbor and was threatened. A deputy spoke to the neighbor who said he was training his puppy. The dog was not injured. The deputy advised the neighbor about the difference between training and abuse.

LAKELAND

Neighbor complaint. A resident in the 16000 block of 5th Street reported their neighbor revving his engine when he drove by the complainant's home. The neighbor denied revving his engine but told a deputy he'd be extra polite when driving by the house.

LANDFALL

OCT. 27

Animal complaint. A poodle was attacked while leashed on a patio in the 10 block of Linden by two pit bulls that had gotten out of a neighbor's yard when a child opened a door. The poodle was not injured.

MAHTOMEDI

Deer complaint. Authorities received a call about a dead deer in the 400 block of Wildwood Road. The county shop was notified about picking up the carcass.

MAY TOWNSHIP

OCT. 27

Public assist. A deputy directed traffic allowing a herd of cattle to cross the road in the 15000 block of Manning Trail.

SCANDIA

Suspicious activity. A pickup truck was reported parked on the property of a foreclosed home in the 23000 block of St. Croix Trail. A deputy spoke to the owner of the truck who said he'd had permission to bow hunt on the property for years. The deputy advised him that although the property was in foreclosure, he still needed permission to hunt there.

OCT. 25

Unattended bicycle. A deputy located a bicycle that had been reported on the side of the road in the area of Oakhill Road and Oland Avenue. The deputy left it there for a while to see if anyone would pick it up. When he returned it was still there so he collected it for the evidence room.

WOODBURY

OCT. 24

Noise complaint. A homeowner on Highview Lane told police that on game nights, he can hear the announcers from the East Ridge High School football game a half mile away. He said he can hear the game when his windows are closed and feels the school should turn down its speakers. An officer told the homeowner that he would pass along his concerns to the school but that there was probably not much that could be done.

Suspicious activity. A resident on Falling Waters Lane reported a man looking at her through a window next to her front door at 10:45 p.m. When she looked at him he took off running. She didn't call police until 20 minutes later after her dog started barking. She told an officer the dog never does that. A check of the area turned up no one suspicious.
