Washburn Library to close for repairs

September 1, 2017 at 1:01AM

The Washburn branch of the Hennepin County Library, in south Minneapolis, will close Saturday for two months to enable workers to repair its roof and upgrade lighting.

During the closure, books put on hold at Washburn can be picked up at the Augsburg Park Library, 7100 Nicollet Av., Richfield. If they prefer, patrons can select a different pickup location by making a request online, calling 612-543-5669 or checking in at any Hennepin County Library.

Library materials may be returned to any county library.

The Washburn Library, at 5244 Lyndale Av. S., was closed for six weeks in 2014 for interior improvements, including new furniture and shelving and a more open floor plan.

The library is scheduled to reopen in early November.
