Warmest of 2010 to Date in Germany

The warmest weather of the year thus far will unfold on Thursday in a wideswath of northern Europe centered upon Germany.

Temperatures will soar easily to between 75 F and 80 F from Paris and muchof France east through Germany to the western edge of Poland. Normally warmspots, such as Frankfurt and Strasbourg, could have readings above the80-degree mark.The unusual warmth will reach south to the northern edge of the Alps inSwitzerland and Austria and north into eastern parts of Netherlands andBelgium.

Southwesterly wind flow beginning over northwestern Africa and tracking byway of Spain and Portugal will instigate the early warm spell. From the west,cold front triggering showers and thunderstorms will put a damper on the warmthon Friday, although Poland could still have readings above 75 F.
