Maeve Andrews, 14, Plymouth, with 29-inch walleye she caught in 2012 in Boulder Lake (As told by her dad, John Andrews) ìMaeve was on a BWCA canoe trip with her brother, uncle and me, and on a day that included 11 portages, she caught this 29-inch walleye while casting from the canoe. She hooked it on an orange spinner, reached into the water, grabbed the fish and deposited it in the bottom of the canoe. After a couple of photos, Maeve waded into the lake and cradled the fish until it swam

Wanted: photos, fish tales

Starting this week our Wednesday Outdoors page will focus on fishing for the next four months, and we are seeking 2013 photos and fishing tales from readers. Here are the guidelines:

• Size of the fish isn't important; the quality of the photo is. High-resolution JPEG files are preferred.

• Include the angler's name and hometown and a brief tale of the catch, and send to fishphoto@startribune.com.

• You can also post your photographs on our website at startribune.com/outdoors.

Ten-year-old Ethan Vanden Busch of Lakeville was fishing alone on the dock on Big Thunder Lake in Remer last summer when he hooked, reeled and netted this 29-inch walleye by himself. He caught it with a leech and bobber rig. ORG XMIT: MIN1208291340273684
