Want 120 rolls of Northern toilet paper, delivered, for $44? Here's how.

Find a better deal than this and you're today's deal spotter.

Here's a deal on toilet paper of all things, thanks to my editor and Dealnews.Staples is offering four Quilted Northern Soft & Strong bath tissue 30-case packs for $43.96 (shipping is free). That's about 36 cents per double roll (286 sheets per 2-ply roll).

Is this a good deal? I did a quick price check at Wal-Mart. Its price on 12 double rolls of the same "Soft & Strong" style was about 50 cents per roll for a slightly shorter roll ($5.97 for 12 double rolls, 242 2-ply sheets per roll).

Target only had Northern 3-ply Ultra-Plush packages (on sale for $14.99 for 30 rolls of 3-ply, 200 sheets per roll). That's also about 50 cents per roll for the shortest roll, albeit 3-ply.

Do I feel stupid parsing the price by comparing sheets per roll? Yes.

Do I think this is a good deal at Staples? Absolutely.

Would I be embarrassed to buy 130 rolls in the store at this price? Yes, but I probably would anyway. At least I wouldn't have to deal with all the cardboard when it's shipped to my home.

To get the deal, buy 4 30-case packs and apply coupon codes 22401 and 60562. Sales tax will be charged.

If any deal spotters want to find a better deal, good luck. Comparing TP from store to store is nearly impossible. The manufacturers change the size of the rolls and the units per package to make comparing difficult. I'm guessing that's at the request of the retailers. The same big retailers that want us to know how low their prices make it difficult to figure it out.
